All my pots are handbuilt using slabs and coils. I think of clay as a support, like paper and canvas, and look upon ceramics as being paintings in three-dimensions, blurring the boundaries between fine art and craft.

I usually start with the simple form of an oval vessel and let shapes and surfaces develop from there. Many are loosely connected to coastal landscapes, natural forms and elements of the earth. Drawing, print-making and exploring surface have always fascinated me, and the possibilities of incorporating these into ceramics are endless.
