Laura Manners

My work is usually thrown on a pottery wheel and hand decorated. By using very white clay I can paint in vivid and vibrant colours. The subjects in my illustrations are inspired by regional heritages; influenced by people and their unique stories, landscapes and industrial heritage. I decorate each piece by hand, drawing mostly from memory. I enjoy reinterpreting conventional perspective to create stylised illustrations. My painting style is energetic and has a bold and spontaneous painterly quality.
