Katy Quinn

I combine glass with precious metals, hand-engraving imagery onto panels and objects, resulting in a rich, reflective finish. It is a labour-intensive technique but allows high levels of intricate detail. I also combine these techniques with silversmithing to create image-based jewellery. Influenced by travels throughout Scandinavia and Scotland, I strive to depict the beauty and moods of the natural world, particularly remote wilderness. The plants and beings of such places, both real and imagined, find their way into my work.
