Heather Larson
I grew up on the Canadian prairies, a place of great beauty, but never in an obvious way. The habit of looking for beauty in everyday objects and locations has never left me. My work draws from the natural sciences and often looks at subjects close-up, even at a microscopic level. In this way, I can show the textures, colours, and shapes of our landscape from a different point of view.
I work in silver and enamel, using traditional and modern techniques. Most of my pieces include hand engraved textures with enamel in soft shades.
