Audrey Hammett
My studio work involves a lot of experiments to explore aspects of surface texture and material properties. I mainly make porcelain vessels, often incorporating wire and other textiles. These elements bring their own material language, for example, simple winding, stitching or pin fastenings. I studied Contemporary Applied Art at Hertfordshire University following a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
